Please sign the Ron Paul 2012 Petition: www.RonPaul2012.net Please like, share, subscribe & comment! http 01/10/2011 Transparency and Accountability for the Federal Reserve! by Ron Paul Last week, the 112th Congress was sworn in. I am pleased that I will be chairing the Monetary Policy Subcommittee of the Financial Services Committee which has oversight of the Federal Reserve. Obviously, this position will facilitate my efforts to ensure the Fed provides the American people with more information about what they have been doing with and to our money. Not surprisingly, since my chairmanship was announced, apologists for the Fed have been recycling the old canard about how increased transparency threatens the Fed’s so-called political independence. By ‘independence’ they are referring to the Fed’s ability to greatly impact the economy with virtually no meaningful oversight. We only recently learned that the bankers at the Fed were able to use the latest financial crisis to bail out Wall Street cronies and foreign central banks with billions of dollars that were created and wasted instead of appropriated and voted on by representatives of the people. The Fed and its supporters in the Congress vehemently fought even this small bit of transparency and without this one-time provision in the Financial Reform Act forcing disclosure we would still not have this information. Indeed, we are in the dark on so much of what the Fed has done. This is extremely dangerous for our country

www.cato.org “The story of this storm in the global markets is the story of how government intervention to solve previous crises laid the foundation for a new one,” writes Johan Norberg in his important new book. Tracing the causes of our current financial crisis with liveliness and clarity, Financial Fiasco shows the mistakes made in Washington, on Wall Street, and in communities across America that led to the economic meltdown. While many analysts have placed the blame solely on Wall Street, Norberg exposes the crucial role government regulation played in creating the opportunities and incentives that led to the financial collapse. In six concise chapters, Financial Fiasco tells the complex story of the crisis, showing how monetary policy, housing policy, and financial innovations combined to create financial catastrophe. The final two chapters describe the government’s mismanagement of the crisis and how we are now dangerously repeating many of the very same mistakes that caused it. An understanding of the roots of the financial crisis is crucial for every American who has felt its effects—and would like to prevent the same disaster from happening again. Financial Fiasco provides that understanding, with great insight, clarity, and wit. Just as important, the book serves as a profound warning against pursuing the wrong solutions. “After government authorities had helped create the worst financial crisis in generations, the climate of ideas has now shifted dramatically

My Winning Stock Market System: Taking Advantage of Stock Market Trading Opportunities

Edit Article |

]]>

I’ve sadly been missing some stock market spreadbetting opportunities lately as I was on holiday, the prevalent trading conditions are ideal for my type of trading. The kind of volatility we have been seeing lately is what convinced me to switch to intraday trading.

Why Trade Intraday?

I just love the freedom it gives me. No more worries if I see the Dow Jones close heavily down or we get bad economic news; I just trade what I see and the advantages to me far outweigh the disadvantages although I trust it mostly depends on the individual.

Some traders are experts as positioning their portfolios but this is an area I always had a big weakness in, probably because all my decisions in the past were taken on a fundamental level. Intraday trading really suits my personality; I love to trade aggressively although I don’t do this until I’ve setup a solid base in my account

My Performance and Trading System

Personally my worst week since switching from swing trading to intraday has been 17% while my best was 145% with 110% made in one day, that day was very much like the last few days we have witnessed; perfect storm conditions and I was pyramiding short FTSE, EUR, Cable and Crude spread betting positions.

I have yet to read a good running an intraday spreadbet account and in fact I think most books on spread betting are woeful. Not that I’m interesting in writing a book but it has taken me a lot of time and energy to come with my strategy and I found very little assistance; it was all through testing and trying, trial and error until I came up with a system that works for me. The fact is that simple strategies make money and imo an intraday technical book would be 90% about money management and psychology – only 5-10% on strategies. So two and a half chapters and the book is finished.

Since my trade win % is now quite high, after a losing trade I will use a variation of martingale my next trade, so a £10 per point loser the next trade will become a £15 per point trade after that a £20 per point; these trades are only used when an account is up by over 40%. Again I must stress this action is only taken when my account is heavily in the black, at the beginning of the month I am much more cautious building a base to which I can attack off. The trick is to get the odds heavily in your favour and to then attack hard; the trouble with the markets is that it is still possible that everything can be right but we end up in a battle of Thermopylae situation.

I have not yet needed to use the £20 per point trade, anyway just a little look into how I trade hope it is of some interest!

The Importance of Timing in Stock Market Investing

Edit Article |

]]>

When it comes to stock market investing, timing is everything. The only option that exists for a successful stock market investor is to aim for the best timing for maximum profits and fewer losses.

Companies issue their stocks to raise capital and invest in the business. Stocks are made available to the public so they can buy and sell them. The price of stock depends on the supply and demand involved, much like the cost of any other item. The stock market takes full advantage of the concept of supply and demand.

Getting into the business of stock market trading often yields more significant profits to investors as opposed to entering into an ordinary stock enterprise. There are a wide variety of stocks to choose from when any investor embarks upon stock trading. Among thousands of registered stocks, there is also always a moving stock out there.

Those who go about carelessly proceeding into the stock market are certain to have undesirable results. Large losses may be incurred if the market trend is not properly predicted. On the other hand, small profits are frustrating to the purpose of stock market trading and earning major money. Uninformed stock traders can wind up waiting around for a decisive moment that might not ever arrive.

Timing The Market

Investors use market timing to predict when the market will change its course. By using market timing, investors seek to avoid the negative effects of poor stock market trading. When using market timing, it is automatically presumed that the decisive point can be predicted ahead of time. By examining pertinent economic data and the price, the direction of the market is predicted to encourage more lucrative stock trading.

Having The Best Timing

The aim of those seeking to be successful at stock investing is to have the best timing. The consistency of such trend prediction is subject to a variety of factors. While market timing sounds like a certain way to make big money, it is not without serious effort. Serious exertion is required involving persistence in studying various market factors and ongoing effort to remain knowledgeable about current market trends. Mere speculation must be avoided. Speculating is a desperate move used when a stock investor has not done the proper homework.

Sometimes investors purchase stocks based on a hot tip they got from someone else. Unfortunately, the majority of these hot tips wind up being false since they are usually offered by parties with their own vested interests.

To have effective market time, investors must get actively involved in research about the company’s history so they can calculate the trend by charting the movement of the stock’s price. The value of the stock must be analyzed to make a fairly accurate prediction about the market trend. By using this method, investors develop standards for when to purchase and when to sell so they can accurately time their investments.

Other considerations as a stock investor include when to resell the stock purchased when it reaches peak value. With analytical research and knowledge, investors can realize maximum profits by taking calculated risks.

Stock Market

The stock market. To some it’s a puzzle. To others it’s a source of profit and endless fascination. The stock market is the financial nerve center of any country. It reflects any change in the economy. It is sensitive to interest rates, inflation and political events. In a very real sense, it has its fingers on the pulse of the entire world.
Taken in its broadest sense, the stock market is also a control center.

So here is an important piece of stock trading advice. Do not chase sudden move stocks. Critical rule to keep in mind. The idea is to buy stocks before movement. Rapid upticks have a tendency to proper very quickly. Or to plummet very quickly. Always be suspect of rapid shifts in cost.

www.informedtrades.com A Lesson on Bollinger Bands for active traders and investors using technical analysis in the forex, futures, and stock markets. The link that I refer to on Standard Deviation is here: en.wikipedia.org The link that I refer to with more resources on Bollinger Bands is here: www.informedtrades.com In our last lesson we learned about the Stochastic Oscillator and how traders use this in their trading. In today’s lesson we are going to learn about an indicator which helps traders gauge the volatility and how current prices compare to past prices. Bollinger Bands are comprised of three bands which are referred to as the upper band, the lower band, and the center band. The middle band is a simple moving average which is normally set at 20 periods, and the upper band and lower band represent chart points that are two standard deviations away from that moving average. Example of Bollinger Bands: Bollinger bands are designed to give traders a feel for what the volatility is in the market and how high or low prices are relative to the recent past. The basic premise of Bollinger bands is that price should normally fall within two standard deviations (represented by the upper and lower band) of the mean which is the center line moving average. If you are unfamiliar with what a standard deviation is you can read about it here en.wikipedia.org As this is the case trend reversals often occur near the upper and lower bands. As the center line is a moving average

This is how idiotic these two simpletons are – even though this cartoon has been debunked by experts who point out that the contents are completely incorrect – they think its a great explanation of the “evils” of the Fed and Quantitative Easing. Talk about stupidity – two grown men and they can’t even understand a cartoon (and when its wrong) between them. These are the sort of morons the US media puts on TV as “commentators” when all they do is poison the public with their ignorance. For smart viewers (and I’m sure there won’t be many of them), I have included the CORRECT version of the cartoon – which someone kindly made after figuring out that the original one is complete BS. From Forbes Magazine regarding the original cartoon: “According to Ogden Nash, “Too clever is dumb.” I’m not sure that’s true anymore. If so, it should curb the popularity of the “Ben Bernank” cartoon, but it feeds it instead. Too dumb has become clever. The ridicule centers on the Fed printing money, which it literally doesn’t do, by the way, but try telling that to the millions of viewers of this cartoon. For the record, when the Fed buys government securities in the market (yes, through dealers, of which Goldman Sachs is one), the ultimate seller gives up a highly liquid asset (government securities), which are not classified as money, for bank deposits, only slightly more liquid, which are classified as money. No wealth or pretend-wealth is created–no alchemy takes place. Yes, there is more

An Introduction To Forex Trading

Forex trading has created a buzz. If you’re tired of listening to all the talk and it’s time YOU take action, it’s time to learn more about the Forex trading system. Forex is short for “Foreign Exchange.” What Forex traders do is trade foreign currency around the world. Yens for Dollars, Dollars for Pounds, you get the idea. Forex trading is very easy to learn and can be a great way to invest.

There are many places you can go to learn the ins and outs of Forex trading but perhaps one of the best places to start is right here online. Most Forex brokers are anxious to have you as a new client so they are more than happy to teach you what you need to know to start trading. Look for online tutorials and courses that are designed to teach the beginner how to get started in Forex trading.

One of the things that make Forex trading so appealing to people working from home is that trading can be done literally 24 hours a day. There is no central Forex office like the New York Stock Exchange, so trading is taking place in some location in the world at any hour of any day.

When you sign on with a broker, check to see what services they offer. One of the great services some brokers offer is software that will be allow traders to make trades right off their own computer.

To get started, you need to open up an account with the broker of your choice. Many brokers offer beginner accounts that can be opened for a little as $250. There are even some that will let you virtual trade with their system. You do this by joining their “simulation trading platform.” You get the real life experience in real time but with out having to risk real money. This is a great way to get the hang of Forex trading before you put any real money at risk.

Each day, 1.9 trillion dollars are traded around the world. Many of those dollars are winning bids but the other side of every winning bid is a losing bid. Like any other type of investment, Forex trading is not a sure, no matter how much you research, no matter how much data you’ve accumulated; your trade can always lose money. Make sure that you have the personality to work under the situation of knowing this. If the money you are investing in Forex is money that you can’t afford to lose, then it may be best to hold off on trading until another time. But, if you do have the personality and you do have a couple of dollars to invest, Forex trading can be very rewarding.
